Where are you from

Born and raised in today’s Croatia, for the past 30 years calling Canada my home.

A little about your self `ie your education Family life etc  I have diploma in Early Childhood Education and Business Accounting. Quite two different fields, I know. I work in an office, as a Credit Analyst, which is credit and collections department but as it seems it’s a department that handles everything.

Fiona: Tell us your latest news?

My seventh book titled ‘Dangerous Benevolence’ was released on March 7^th by The Wild Rose Press.

Nije trebalo dugo, i prvi hrvatski intelektualac je pred podivljalim braniteljima s Trga izveo ritual samokažnjavanja. Šef psihijatrijskog odjela u Varaždinu dr.mr.sc. Nenad Horvat svojevoljno se javno i građanski kaznio davši ostavku jer je uvrijedio “branitelje”. U novinama se javno ispričava i kaže da je spreman podnijeti sve posljedice. Samooptužuje se za verbalni delikt i delikt mišljenja. Ispričava se bolnici u kojoj radi – da joj nanijeo štetu. Guta degradaciju od strane ustanove, prihvaća bespogovorno osudu stanovitog Mladena Smoljanca, ravnatelja i ideologa ustanove koja osluškuje osjećaje branitelja, dok dr. Horvat revidira, “shvaća” što je pogrešno mislio: naime da su demonstracije šatoraša i kompanije pogonjene na klerofašizam. Uzrujano se javlja novinama da bi dodatno pljuvao po sebi: “To je bilo neukusno i neumjesno od mene.”

How old were you when you knew you wanted to be a writer?

I always had a vivid imagination and made stories up, which got me in trouble on occasion since some kids believed me and ran to their parents because they too would like to attend the Dragon Flying Academy. Imagine my mom’s embarrassment when the said parents approached her telling her to make me stop lying. I wasn’t, I was just making up stories. It didn’t occur to me to start writing them down until my high school. My first written story was something about love triangle, can’t remember. It got torn up in a cat fight in the girls’ bathroom when one of the girls wouldn’t let the other read it.
